Medical disclaimer
Rested Review is general information about sleep, not medical advice. What that means and where to get help.
This site is general information
Rested Review provides general information about sleep for adults. It is not medical advice. It can’t diagnose a condition, tell you which treatment is right for you or replace an appointment with a GP, pharmacist or other health professional.
The guides are not written or reviewed by doctors
Guides are edited by Amy Lewis, who is not a medical professional. They are written with AI assistance and checked against sources such as the NHS and NICE, but they have not been reviewed by a doctor.
Everyone is different
Something that helps one person may not suit another, especially if you are pregnant, have a long-term condition or take other medicines. Always read the leaflet that comes with a medicine and ask a pharmacist or GP before starting a new medicine or supplement.
Don’t stop or change a prescribed medicine because of something you read here. Talk to the person who prescribed it first.
Where to get help
- For advice about your sleep or symptoms: speak to a GP or pharmacist.
- If you need help urgently but it’s not an emergency: call NHS 111 or go to 111.nhs.uk.
- In an emergency: call 999.
- If you’re struggling with your mental health: the NHS lists where to get urgent help.
Driving and sleepiness
Don’t drive or operate machinery if you feel sleepy. Some sleep conditions, such as sleep apnoea with excessive sleepiness, affect whether you can legally drive. See GOV.UK: excessive sleepiness and driving.
Links to other websites
Guides link to other organisations’ websites, such as the NHS. Rested Review isn’t responsible for the content of those sites.
Accuracy
Guides are checked before publishing and reviewed when guidance changes, but health information can go out of date. Each guide shows when its sources were last checked. If you spot a mistake, please let us know.
